We first started to work with Phil, when he submitted a design for the GoGoGorillas! trail I Project managed in Norwich in 2013. Phil quickly proved what an asset he was to the project with his wide range of art skills. Phil not only designed and painted many of our gorillas he helped to repair and advise on the project.
Phil has also shown a great level of respect and support to Break, with him regularly donating paintings to support the work we do, with vulnerable children, families and young people across east Anglia.

We recently welcomed Phil into Norwich High School for Girls as part of our Winter Arts Festival.
He led a full school senior assembly where he inspired girls through his passion for artwork and opportunities to be involved with art.
Phil displayed his artwork and a couple of Gorillas in the school, which were greatly appreciated and brought the assembly to life.
Phil also delivered a session to our 6th form around his Emotion Series art and engaged the girls in thought processes linked to emotions and how emotions are portrayed in his work.
Our A ’Level Art students welcomed the opportunity of a private workshop where they looked at light and shade to create emotion in drawing.
Our Junior School were also treated to an assembly from Phil on his life as an artist followed by a lengthy Q&A session.
Phil was more than happy to answer all manner of questions related to his art and Gorillas.
Phil is obviously an incredible artist but he has a gift of being able to enthuse students of all ages to engage with the arts, explore and develop their passion and love of art.

'Phil delivered a really engaging and enthusiastic assembly for our children. He also brought along a fabulous and impressive collection of his own work to turn our school hall into a gallery so that the children could browse and ask him more questions too. It was a very successful morning, as part of our 'Aspirations Week' and I have since had lots of very positive comments from both children and parents. I would certainly recommend him to other schools.'
