AIRBRUSH ART
Phil has worked on dozens of street sculptures for several different trails organised by Wild in Art and regional charities, such as Break Charity (particularly dear and close to Phil’s heart).
Some of these sculptures involvedĀ the application of specialist texture effects, something Phil has become renowned for on these trails. Or highly detailed artwork using airbrush effects, shading, 3D illusions and automotive styled art.
In the GoGoGorillas trail in Norwich, 53 large sculptures filled the city, with Phil busily supporting Break in repairing damage, whilst producing his own examples, ultimately raising large sums for those in need. Following on 2 years later with GoGoDragons and then GoGoHares, with future plans for Dinosaurs!
The brief was to create a large backdrop mural for the African themed section in the schools new ‘Sensory Garden’. This garden development was the passion of a teacher who had sadly passed away, this garden would be a tribute to his memory.
The existing shed side was big and the mural size ended up at 16′ long by 4′ high. The first task was for the boards to be properly sealed with paint and reverse painted and varnished. There is no point at this stage cutting corners and saving pennies when later down the line it cost pounds.
The customer was delighted with the finished artwork, most of all, the students gained and the memory of the teacher they loved was enhanced.
An open event released balloons into the evening sky and the whole garden was shown to a host of people, all involved with the school and its success.
A grand launch evening was planned on the busy Norwich streets for X-Leisure and was set around the feel of the original King Kong theme. The artistic brief was to create a piece of floor street art with a 3D feel where two 1950’s American cars could stand.
Phil completed the artwork on time, within budget, installed it on location and was part of a superb launch event.
Some art was created on site with the layout done on the day of the launch… it was an artistic challenge, but one that finally came together. The public loved the event, with TV coverage and thousands of people following the trail, benefiting everyone… including raising money for people in need.

Phil delivered a really engaging and enthusiastic assembly for our children. Bringing fabulous and impressive collections, turning our school hall into a gallery for browsing and questions. A very successful morning, part of 'Aspirations Week', with very positive comments from children and parents. I would certainly recommend him to other schools.

Over many years Phil has proven such an asset with sculpture trails for Break Charity and Wild in Art. Not only designing superb artwork himself but also assisting with advice and repairing other artists work. Phil shows great respect and support to Break, aiding vulnerable children, families and young people across east Anglia.

Phil led a full school senior assembly, inspiring through his passion, then delivered teaching sessions on Emotional art, further engaging the girls. Even A' level art students welcomed deeper understanding in light/shade with emotional content, following lengthy Q&A sessions. Not only an incredible artist but gifted in enthusing students of all ages to engage with the arts.
